Release Notes
Size: 2,485,269 Bytes (2.37 MB)
- You must have a UNIX (FreeBSD, Linux, etc) shell or run
your own UNIX system. (For a Windows Installer see the
Windows Development Release page).
- Tool Command
Language (Tcl) libraries must be installed on your system. The recommended
version is 8.4.14. See Tcl Developer
Website for details on how to obtain them.
- If SSL (Secure Connection) support is required then
OpenSSL must be
installed on your system. The recommended version is 0.9.8e.

- To view the online help via the Bot, the
Expat XML libraries must be
installed on your system. The recommended version is 2.0.0.

- To get the most out of Eggdrop RacBot your Shell should
not be behind a firewall that hinders DCC. The shell should support background
processes and crontab, and have at least 40 MB of disk quota. (60MB+ of disk
space is recommended).
- You should feel comfortable using basic UNIX commands
like "cd" and you should know your way around your shell's file
system E.g. know where your home directory is. (hint: try "cd" then
"pwd").
- This release is designed for QuakeNet, Undernet, EFnet,
Dalnet,IRCnet and Austnet servers. It should also work on other smaller
networks, perhaps after some manual configuration.
Download
- Untar the compressed tar file using tar -xzf
<racbot.tar.gz>. (If your system does not have a tar command that can
uncompress files then use gunzip <racbot.tar.gz> then tar -xf
<racbot.tar>
- Follow the instructions in INSTALL.txt.
(You will find it in the racbot-<version> subdirectory).
You should install this beta version in a seperate
directory from the Eggdrop RacBot 3.2x releases.
